From a spark, a sensation
The journey of Poe on the Rocks began spontaneously in April 2025. Mark March and Jim McKeny, professional actors based in Winston-Salem, NC, were challenged to craft a lively show around Edgar Allan Poe's stories and poetry for Joyner's Bar. The event premiered to a sold-out crowd. That success led to a command performance for Joyner's sister bar in nearby Greensboro, a New Orleans themed cocktail lounge called The Quarter. POE & Co. Entertainment was formed to make this blend of literature, music and humor available for corporate events, private paries & gatherings, bars and restaurants throughout North Carolina.
